Rental of the Day: 9 Hunts Lane
This two-bedroom rental in Brooklyn Heights has lost most of its historic details and doesn’t feel huge, but the building itself (a carriage house) is charming and the location’s a winner. Given all that, the monthly rent of $2,400 doesn’t seem at all bad to us. What do you think? 9 Hunts Lane [Halstead] GMAP…

“the landlord is probably an elderly psycho”
Jeez.
I’d rather just buy 6 Grace Court Alley…with its four-car garage!! It’s $2.7 million but did I mention the four-car garage?

Agreed… something doesn’t seem right.
if a rental is way underpriced – the landlord is probably an elderly psycho (which is a good bet considering the location of this place)
The link to the broker’s website is the link that doesn’t work. If you do a search for the property on Halstead it doesn’t even show up. The listing is just for the top floor unit. There doesn’t seem to be a catch except it’s not a large place. Perfect for a share and it looks a hell of a lot nicer than the other place listed at 2,400 we saw two weeks ago in BH.
Access to the roof would be great (esp. privately, considering the lower floor likely has any garden rights). Since this perk is not explicitly stated, I can only assume that’s a no.
The link is working now.
Could the catch be that the rental is only one of the two floors?
For the location and size it’s a total deal. In fact, this was posted 14 days ago on Brownstoner. The fact that the broker link isn’t working anymore leads me to think it’s already been snapped up.
There is railing on the roof which would indicate there may be a roofdeck? Not listed in the ad if there is one or if the rental would have access. That would be a plus since the apartment looks small.
One bedroom is average size and it’s a real bedroom. There’s no pic of the second one though.
