1638-8th-ave-012111.jpgProspect Park Terrace, the 27-unit building at 1638 8th Avenue, has sold 51 percent of its units. (If you want a feel for this building’s turbulent past, look no further.) After years of construction, the Karl Fischer-designed project finally went to market this past July. StreetEasy notes a price drops on a few of the apartments in the meantime; remaining units range in price from $560,000 for a 853-square-foot two-bedroom to $1,125,000 for a 1,950-square-foot two-bedroom.

  1. Can someone explain why developers/architects are now using plug in heaters? Is it simply a matter of them cutting costs? They are really ugly looking! What happened to central heating!? Why not just supply each unit with a few space heaters from KMART? It would accomplish the same thing.

  2. Saw these today. Interiors are terrible, especially the awkward kitchens and tiny living rooms. Not worth it and a waste of time to go all the way out to “South Park Slope” or whatever they are calling this area.

  3. I always chuckle when I see the renderings that make it appear that the building is situated along a park or has a large verdant green lawn running along the side – when in reality it is wedged in to the middle of a block.
