Park Slope is not the only place where houses are flying off the shelf these days? Prospect Lefferts Gardens is getting in on the action too, as evidenced by this recent data point: After hitting the market with Douglas Elliman with an asking price of $899,000 on January 5, the three-story brownstone at 251 Fenimore Street closed on February 4 for $935,000. What is this, 2007?
The Brooklyn property owners are all giddy!!
And yet, by any rational measure, it still makes better economic sense to rent a comparable property in New York City.
This house is so beautiful! I love the bathroom! I’m not surprised it went for over ask- it’s worth every cent.
Someone just wrote a check to the seller and that was that!!!!
BHO….WHERE ARE YOU???? HELLLLOOOOOOO?????????
Amzi, it’s good news for property owners in Brooklyn. For people trying to buy in Brooklyn, it’s a little more of a mixed bag.
there
Market is picking up and their is a shortage of renovated move in condition product. Ask the buyers……
This house was a great deal. A mile away this beautiful house would be double this price… This is good news for Brooklyn.
where has brownstones half off been???
This house was head and shoulders above the competition for the price point. Look at all the houses between $879K and $949K – none are as attractive. In a declining market, it doesn’t pay to overprice by 15% and let the listing go stale.
