Last night the facade on a brownstone on Lefferts Place between Classon and Franklin collapsed and DOB is getting ready to tear it down. We can’t get over there. Are there any readers nearby to take a photo for us? Thanks. UPDATE: A reader sent in this photo of the collapse at 196 Lefferts Place. Based on the Property Shark photo, this place was already looking pretty derelict on the outside. Was anyone living there?

  1. Hunh… there’s an occupied building down the block from me whose third floor brownstone lintel/window surround fell off a year or two ago, taking out the cast iron railings on the stoop. I keep waiting for DOB to get somebody to do something, but I guess that floor of the building isn’t, uh, necessary or something… Is it something that has to be reported by the owner/tenant/whomever?

  2. Man, me and my buyers broker were going to put a bid on that place:( I’ve got the bank financing in place but the seller’s wanted to do their on DD… This NY market is crazy!?

  3. Thanks Denton.I checked the minimum system requirements and my ancient iBook is many generations too old for Lightroom. I’m using PhotoShop 7–the three newer versions won’t work either. Fortunately my digital photography is just an afterthought and I don’t need anything better. Nothing will replace my 50 year old Rolleiflex 🙂
