According to an advertisement flashing at the top of this website, the big building on 4th Avenue between Douglass and Butler that’s been under construction for a couple years is going to start renting units by the end of this month, with prices beginning in the low $1900s per month. Banners have also gone up on the sides of the building, which has been dubbed Arias Park Slope, announcing its impending arrival. While the building’s official website is still mum on details, the company repping the project, The Marketing Directors, offers a bit more color on its site: “From the dramatic two-story attended lobby to the immaculate putting green, multiple garden areas, pet spa, on-site parking, and more, Arias offers the ideal balance of everything you desire.” It’s also going to have a fitness center, private cabanas on the roof, and a resident lounge on the second-floor terrace, according to the Marketing Directors site. You’ve come a long way, 4th Avenue.

  1. > But this whole “Pet Spa” thing? Makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

Remember Buttercup’s Paw-tisserie, the “All Natural Dog Bakery” that used to be on 5th? Now THAT was truly barfworthy.

  2. oh BOOO!!! i read this as a commercial pet spa coming to that space! but it’s going to be an amenity for residents of the building?! will they at least allow guest passes?
hahahah jk. honestly tho is a pet spa any cheesier than a human spa? not really. in fact i think id rather go to a pet spa than a human spa anyway

    *rob*

  3. Can I just say…

…I mean, I love dogs (and cats and hamsters…) as much as the next person. I really and truly do. But this whole “Pet Spa” thing? Makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

  4. does anyone actually use these fancy amenities?

I always wondered that too. It sounds so wonderful, but have to admit, do they really get used that mush that it is worth it to have…..

The building looks pretty decent from outside, especially compared to the construction choices these days.

But yes, I am old school, I still liked the original row of tenements that were there before, glad the 2 on either end were there. Kinda like a ghost from the past, or bookends…..
