Oh, I’m a dumbass… I actually saw that Rugby Road house a few months ago and didn’t recognize it from this pic at first. I think that otherworldly glow that the front photo has is photoshopped in… I don’t remember it seeming so ethereal. That porch off the top floor was lovely, as were the floors. Sort of a rabbit warren, but it is Victorian after all. The bathrooms were hysterical. Old school shell sinks in crazy colors.
what are people’s thoughts on Rugby Road house?
Thanks, Slopette!

is that what it’s come down to for you bho?
digging through old threads searching for sympathetic minds?
i had expected (a bit) more out of you.
“I think prices will have to come down as people can’t use profits from prior sales to buy. Miss Muffet will buy a house because she has this profit from the bubble. If she (and others like her) had to purchase based on their income and savings without this nut from prior sales, houses have to be much lower.
My husband and I both have good jobs and a nice combined income, but we could never afford the house we live in now that we bought in 1996, even at the current lowered prices. Things would have to come way down before our house is something we could afford, even though we earn more now than we did in 1996 and the rental income is higher. We bought in the 500s, house probably peaked at around $2 mill. We could afford around 800-1,000 from take home pay. Hmm. Bid half off peak comps?”

Tried to follow the link for the Rugby Road property…says “listing is no longer available.” Where is it listed now?
My wife and I were told in December that 301 Rugby was in contract. Not sure if it fell through or if that is still the case because we ended up finding a lovely place in nearby West Midwood.
Open House Picks 6 months later consistently shows properties are taking a long time to move. Last weeks biggest sales shows there are still large transactions happening.
Which is more important??
