We just spent our lunch hour doing an initial scan of potential Open House Picks for tomorrow and, man, there’s not a lot out there. As usual, Corcoran has the lion’s share of the listings, so unless you want an all-Corcoran post tomorrow, please email some interesting suggestions to us asap.
Gracias.

  1. We actually go out of our way to look at the Mom and Pops (believe us, we want to have more diversity up there), but unfortunately they tend to be very weak and disorganized with their open house listings or fail to provide the full range of info we need, like a photo and address. Also, we have been asking for them to submit open house listings to us for months but they rarely get their act together to, so what can we do?

  2. Fillmore is having an open house at 557 7th st, Sun 5/29 1-3.

They don’t give much info on their website other than this:

Landmarked 4 story 2 family close to 3,000 sqft. Convienently located near top schools, resraurants, houses of worship, and fabulous Prospect Park West.

and a picture of the outside (which looks nice)
$1.85M seems like a reasonable asking price for the location, 7th st btwn 8th and the park.

A quick search on propertyshark shows the lot is a bit skinny (16.67) but the FAR is 3 so there are over 2000 sq ft of unused air rights.

  3. We all know that Brooklyn has the singularity of having listings on a decentralized per-broker basis.
That said, I wonder if some of the mom-and-pop shop brokers’ listings, because of tried-and-true store front non-tech-savy approach, tend to not make these fine pages ?
Maybe you could have a Local Broker showcase once in a while ?

  4. If you’ve been following this blog for a while, it’s hard to see how you would conclude that Minsky would view us a buddy…more like a thorn in his side. Though you know the saying that there’s no such thing as bad publicity! Whatever, Jerry gets the listings and makes the sales. We’re sure he can handle a little razzing now and then.
