NorthHeights, well, that’s the problem. While it’s easy for me to pull up deeds for a certain period of time, I’m not able to search them by price or a specific property type. So it’s straightforward but rudimentary in terms of search options!
gravesend takes a reprieve and lets brownstone BK hoods get some stage time.
How do you sort by property type and sale price in acris?
Man, when I thought the Gingerbread house had sold for 2 million I was kicking myself. Not that I can afford it. Or want to live in Bay Ridge. But that place seems pretty cool.
NorthHeights: We use ACRIS (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/jump/acris.shtml) which is pretty easy to navigate!
Bay Ridge House is around the corner from the Gingerbread house.
OOOps- Gingerbread House is still for sale. Still $12 million.

They send a list every week of closed sales according to criteria you select (type of prop, area, etc).
I’m also curious why the listing reduction of price when going into contract.
Also, one other comment and one question:
(1) I think the slight reduction in price in Cobble Hill that shows up on StreetEasy is just broker sleight-of-hand so it appears the listing sold at ask. Any broker experts out there who can confirm the mechanics of these databases?
(2) What database does one search to compile Last Week’s Biggest Sales? nyc.gov only lists aggregate data on a monthly basis. Can you do this if you pay for a streeteasy subscription?
