We’ve been seeing a few of these teens Tudors lately, and the original details on this one are particularly nice. The window seat, stair, dining room paneling, coffered ceiling, leaded glass windows and transom, and upstairs wood work give it plenty of Tudor charm, although the kitchen and bath look like they could use a bit of work. (Hard to tell from the photos if the bathroom tile merely needs new grout or a full demo.) There is a sleeping porch and an extra two rooms up top, although as currently set up, with only one bathroom on the main bedroom floor, it’s only really practical as a two-bedroom. What do you think of it for $829,000?

I’ve sold on this block. Good location, relatively close to the park and subway. I wish there were trees on Chester Ct not sure if it is possible. The 4th bedroom is usually the attic. You do hear the subway. Since this is on the north side of Chester, the effect of the construction side should not be as bad.
It’s a great block, neighbors include chef-to-watch Saul Bolton. Block has really beautified itself in the past few years. Quiet, charming. Houses are much bigger than they look, and you really don’t notice the trains at the end of the street.
I live in a similar house on Rutland, also went to the open house. There’s a fantastic amount of intact detail but it does need a lot of work–the electrical for starters looks ancient and can’t possibly be to code. The bathroom wall tile is beautiful – we have the same original tile in our kitchen though not the bathroom, sadly. Does anyone know if the built-in window seat and shelving is original? This is the first I’ve seen that particular detail in one of these Tudors.

I’ve seen gazillion dollar townhouses with worse bathroom setups than this.
It’s a cute house, under a million and you can create a kick a$$ master suite on the top floor.
“bad” location is anything outside of Brooklyn Heights.
