House of the Day: 388 Stuyvesant Avenue
Wow. This limestone house at 388 Stuyvesant Avenue in Stuyvesant Heights sure is a beauty. The three-family listing, which is currently featured in the Brownstoner Marketplace, has original details out the wazoo–inlaid parquet floors, wainscoting, stained glass windows, etc. The asking price is $1,247,000, definitely on the high side for the area, is hard to…

There is an original wood-burning stove and icebox though. Old school!

I saw this on the house tour too. Loved the stove and ice box. The parlor floor has three parlors, as I recall. Or was it four? Or five? The upper floors weren’t open for view.
I don’t think the price is all that ridiculous, actually. If the bedroom floors and bathrooms are also in perfect original condition.
I seem to remember some kind of non-original partitioning between the floors though.
“$1,247,000”
Someday this war is gonna end…
***Bid half off peak comps***
m4l, except for the detail, St Marks needed everything…electric, plumbing and gutting on a few floors. This is a much nicer property albeit not as much mahogany!!! I would assume this is “turnkey.”
how does this stack up vs the St Marks Mansion? Cause this is pretty jaw dropping (& so is the damn price)
Beautiful…also far nicer than the two limestones that sold at peak $1.1 MM+ prices in 2008 (Babs bought one).
Not enough info on the listing to know if it will get this price.
beautiful.
If it were in Detroit, 65K.
It it were in Philadelphia it would cost $350K.
Stunning woodwork.
