The photos could be better, but this new listing at 240 Lafayette Avenue in Clinton Hill looks pretty good otherwise and, at $1,275,000, should sell fairly quickly, we suspect. Has anyone checked this place out in person?

  1. I went to the open house.. The place is in bad shape.. The ceilings are falling apart, the walls are chipped.. But, the ceilings is pretty much wrecked through out the house.. The top floor ceilings are maybe 9 feet. The kitchen is super outdated. They would not let you look inside the rental. The basement is low and packed with crap. No backyard. Place seems very short though, its probably 19.5 to 20 wide. Place needs to be gutted and redone.

I hope it sells for 1.2 because I live in the area but, I see this place selling for 8-9 and needing to be completely gutted.

Wish them luck though, they weren’t very nice.. We arrived 10 minutes before the open house was ending.. There were 12 people standing in front of the house waiting to go in for some meeting the owner had scheduled for the exact time the open house was ending.. When I asked if this was the place for the open house the owner said yes but, the open house is over. I started to walk away and the realtor ran after us. Strange?

  2. I love Underwood because my child loves Underwood. Water+shade+square layout=heaven.
Even though I love Underwood, this listing is underwhelming. No backyard, no light because there is a building where your yard should be, tons of work, come on now.

  3. the photos are dark and dingy not because of the photographer….more likely because the place is dark and dingy!

the mortgage could have been used to buy another place? is the owner in re sales?

  4. Great location if you have kids though, as Underwood Park is directly across the street, best kids park in the area. I agree that the photos are probably darker than this house is inside. I think this is a lay up at this price but you know me, Clinton Hill cheerleader and all.

  5. Professional photographers know to compensate for these lighting difficulties so you don’t get these contrasts. I think the listing broker took these shots and rushed to get this up (open house tomorrow eve.) — hopefully floor plans and professional photographs will be up shortly.
