Most of the units at 80 Metropolitan are condominium apartments, but there’s a row of townhouses on North 1st Street that also get to take advantage of the development’s communal services. This one at 63 North 1st Street has had a hard time making up its mind about its asking price: It started out in February 2008 at $1,635,000, and ticked up later in the year to $1,665,000 before getting delisted in July. It reemerged at the depths of the market this winter with a price of $1,295,000, and then a couple of weeks ago got bumped up to $1,400,000. Given that it’s 2,100-square-feet of freshly constructed space, do you think this is achievable?

  1. Don’t be silly! He just never leaves his neighborhood! Why would he? Everything in the entire universe (or at least its Japanese anime/German expressionist cinema version) is there.

    That’s actually true.

  2. wine lover you seriously take your neighborhood WAAAAAAY too seriously. sometimes i dont even get what the big deal is about identifying with specific neighborhoods when in reality we can get to most of them in a hop, jump, and a skip for 2.25! we should actually be HAPPY that for most of us in brooklyn we are so close to neighborhoods with different vibes, that’s the best part of living in a city. look at most of manhattan below 125th street, tell me it’s not all pretty much the same thing.. i mean not really, but it’s getting there.. probably here in brooklyn too, but at least it will take a little longer.

    *rob*

  3. this takes the cake for a completely stupid thread. i’m going to have a rant now.

the subway commute? really??? compared to wtf? all of brownstone brooklyn except for parts of fort greene and the heights ABSOLUTELY S*CKS! it’s so far from everything. i’m in union square in 10 minutes. if you’re in pS, your no where in 10 minutes.
the subway commute is great! the JMZ is 3 frickin trains that come constantly and the L which comes usually every 3 minutes connects to just about every other subway.

80 met is a very nice development and these owners surely can have the doorman receive their packages, swim in the pool, use the common deck, etc…
i bet the condo will put in their own landscaping and help pretty up the block. this is a COMPLETED family sized townhouse in a very good neighborhood. do you seriously believe that there’s no market for this? not to mention that it’s very close to a magnet school for the arts (84) that has one of brooklyn’s best dual language programs (spanish, adding French), and has a top top pre-k program. so.. yes this is a good building for families who want to buy here.

convenience to the great amenities in WB trumps stupid old lady victorian housing and mediocre stores, restaurants, salons and galleries everyday. not to mention the best music venues are all in WB too. have fun eating the beet ravioli at al di la for the 101st time – these owners will be having a drink at dressler and eating at fatty cue and seeing a band at music hall.

p*ss off naysayers! all your dumb comments wont stop the WB momentum. have fun in Park slope with all the frumpy frumps and have even more fun in bedstuy where you can live near the highest number of child molesters in the world! now that’s a wonderful thing to brag about.

hey – welcome back 11217 – i did miss you.
