House of the Day: 375 6th Avenue
This new listing at 375 6th Avenue looks quite charming and put together. The living and bedrooms all have nice floors, light and moldings going for them. This new listing at 375 6th Avenue looks quite charming and put together. The living and bedrooms all have nice floors, light and moldings going for them. At 17.5-feet-wide, the house is a little skinny on paper but looks to flow quite nicely anyway. We’re not in love with the kitchen and we suspect many buyers would make some changes, but it’s inoffensive enough and appears to be in decent shape. The asking price is $1,650,000. How does that strike you?

Not to nick-pick, but it looks like it might abutt a deep apt building, which would diminish the pleasantness of the backyard. That would explain the angle of the backyard photo. But I’m just speculating.
Looks like a lovely home on a nice street in the number one neighborhood of the entire universe.
FYI this house was already HOD few years ago: http://www.brownstoner.com/brownstoner/archives/2006/02/house_of_the_da_127.php
At that time the house was for sale at $1,495,000
from what I can tell it looks like they added a new bathroom and removed the kitchen from the top floor.
Now the question is does it justify $1550,00 increase?
propshark says 17.25 but not going make big deal of 3 inches. 40′ deep. basement probably easy to make rec room.
If need lot of space probably ok deal.
Seems pretty clear, unless there is some serious unknown, that this is priced to sell.
I like it. Has a nice simple feel. Though, there’s a ton of filler light for the photos, but, hey. It is a much darker house based on the floor plan, though.
Kitchen extension a trade off, of course. Get to retain all the commons space, but . . . well kind of like the “den” in the condo yesterday, cuts off light.
Where was the original kitchen?
Center stair?
The broker’s site says it’s a center stair. But the floor plan shows a side stair. Or am I mistaken?
Prevailing price given the number of stories and windows. 25 to 50 percent chance of moving six months from now.
Cannot complain about location/condition, however.
***Bid half off peak comps***
dont love the avenue or the extension, but priced right, will move pretty quickly.
looks nice.
Strikes me as a well priced house in that location.
#1 nabe in the five boroughs. So its got that going for it.
