House of the Day: 282 Park Place
We’ll be really interested to see what this new brownstone listing at 282 Park Place ends up selling for. We really like these brownstone blocks of Prospect Heights—they’re not quite as established (read: fancified) as the blocks on the other side of Flatbush but as a result they’re also a little cooler in our opinion….

We really like these brownstone blocks of Prospect Heights—they’re not quite as established (read: fancified) as the blocks on the other side of Flatbush but as a result they’re also a little cooler in our opinion. (We’re not the only ones who think so—right, Maggie and Peter?) This particular house has lots of details and is configured nicely into am upper triplex with garden rental, as most potential buyers will want it. It’s also got lots of original details. Eighteen months ago we suspect this would have been asking $2,250,000. It just came to market, however, with a price tag of $1,799,000. Interesting indeed.

Listing says living room and kitchen need TLC, and because of that the house is “priced accordingly.”
LOL, mopar and tybur! They made it all worth selling. It’s funny that it sold before my broker ever held an open house. And a full 11 days before it was a Brownstoner HOTD.
Tybur6,
Maybe the vatican can re-locate the homeless penises to Brooklyn, where they can be united with stoopless brownstones.
That might be a nice thing to do.
Someone should start a petition.
You had WOLVERINE in your house?! That’s just awesome.
Ah, private showings. Very good. Well, Cargar, I must say it’s an honor to have owned a house that Maggie & Peter and Hugh looked at. 🙂
mopar, I was home the first weekend when potential buyers arrived for a number of private showings, both because of the dog, and because I was still finishing some things to get the house ready – which turned out to be unnecessary because it sold on Day 2 – but I kept a low profile and gave buyers their privacy to look wherever they wanted, for as long as they wanted, and to talk freely among themselves and their broker. But I happened to be there when Maggie & Peter looked and also when Hugh Jackman looked. They were very polite to me and the dog as we went outside when they arrived, to leave them alone in the house.
Oh… i just figured out who ‘Maggie and Peter’ were. Given my secret love of Ms. G, I have tried to blot out the knowledge of her marriage.
Has anyone seen our friend, Björk Guðmundsdóttir, cruising around Brooklyn Heights in a duck costume or anything?
Cgar, that’s hilarious. Did they just walk in and there they were? If that happened to me (impossible of course unless they were looking for a one bedroom in Jackson Heights) I probably wouldn’t even recognize them. At best I’d be like, oh you look a lot like that actress. What is her name?
There was an open house this weekend and broker says there is an accepted bid.
