forget it tybur6, bicycles are not allowed on this street.
5000 sq ft….could easily be a condo conversion. Isn’t there one done lately around here that Brownstoner featured as sold out or almost sold out.
Too large for a 1 or 2 family.
When it hits $3,000,000 I’ll buy it! But not for a penny less.
“inexplicably higher price”
Why inexplicable? Aren’t we recovering? Haven’t we hit bottom?

The big front yards give the houses a lot of privacy. Your parlor looks out on greenery rather than on an SUV parked eight feet away. I think they are great. I wish i lived on one of those streets.
“Remeber, you can’t drink out front unless it’s behind gates.”
Oh sure you can, DIBS!! Just don’t get caught!! : P
And really, what’s the point of having a big statue of the Virgin Mary in your back yard? Front yard works much better.
(ok, potentially offensive)

I would rather own a house with a larger backyard than front yard, as I value the private space more highly than the “public” space.
However, I like the large front yards from an aesthetic point of view. Those blocks are so much more open and airy than typical brownstone blocks.
