House of the Day: 212 8th Avenue
Another classic Park Slope beauty, 212 8th Avenue just hit the market this week. It’s everything you would expect, from the parquet to the mahogany to the pier mirrors. It will be very interesting to see how the price tag of $2,995,000 flies in this market. It wouldn’t have cut the mustard a few months…

It will be very interesting to see how the price tag of $2,995,000 flies in this market. It wouldn’t have cut the mustard a few months ago, we suspect, but psychology is definitely a little better right now so we shall see. We bet it’ll go for more like $2,750,000 but we shall see.
212 8th Avenue [Douglas Elliman] GMAP P*Shark
Amazing that this listing has vanished into thin air. I hope the listing agent owns this building; otherwise, all faith in Elliman might have vanished. If this is a arm’s length transaction, the owner deserves so much more. What does it all mean if Elliman in Park Slope did not have the basic ability to locate and market this property and the Elliman office in Manhattan no longer has the listing?
Oh, oops. Sorry . . . that took long.
My posts aren’t posting.
“Nomi-
yup, I was hoping to have my house painted to frame and hang in my office. I like the feel of your work and the general cut of your jib so I assumed I’d like your interpretation. Thanks though!”
Thanks, moreteasir. That’s really good to hear. There are people who do house portraits. I wish I knew someone I could recommend, but I don’t.

Look you Meanies,
Prudential up and removed the ad! I finally wanted to take an evening moment have a look at the listing. For Cripe’s sake. I’m sure they got scared by all the nastiness above.
Or…maybe it was pulled from the market.
I predict that once this nice house is bought by an uber-rich person it will be stripped of all its traditional finishes and fitted out with brand-new minimalist white esthtic interiors. People with this kind of money like to annoy and bemuse mere mortals.
“lots”, “realistically priced” etc are all vague terms. They start being meaningful when unable to sell
oops, wrong thread
