This modest but architecturally attractive limestone at 307 Winthrop Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens got our attention with its $550,000 asking price. While the facade looks nice, we’re a little worried about what the interior must look like, given that it’s currently chopped up into three units with a total of nine (!) bedrooms. The block is also not the neighborhood’s finest. Then again, the listing says that the owners “will listen to all offers” so perhaps there’s a deal to be had.

what would really be entertaining is if commenters 1 and 2 shared their witty thoughts in person with the owners of the house and some residents of the area. smart-ass chicken s**t.
this isnt prospect-lefferts gardens…i would call this neighborhood either east flatbush or wingate…either way west of nostrand is flatbush and the area aint all that hot. but i would seriously consider something like this if i had the money to fix it up. train station is steps from your house.
isnt this area flatbush?
My only problem with this block is the people who live inside this house. I’m thrilled to learn that the landlord is selling. The whole block will be thrilled to get rid of this crew of renters.
HDM is actually a surprisingly sensitive man and (not so surprisingly) very bright and nice, another reason to use his name as a pseudonym.
I think you are the first person to catch the reference here – most people think it’s a reference to the Canadian province.
You are also right that he couldn’t care less about a Brooklyn real estate blog…. maybe one about Avenue B, but even then, that’s dubious.
Yeah, somehow I didn’t think the real Handsome Dick would be cruising a Brooklyn Real Estate Blog. I also doubt he’d give a rat’s ass about insulting the people that live in that HOD. Am I the first person to recognize the name?
That has to be a typo. $727/YEAR is probably the right #.
1, 2, and 3 famlies are all classed the same for prop tax
4+ is diff.
I also just noticed you sold off your Dictators’ albums (especially their 2nd and 3rd oft-hard to find LPs) … brings a tear to my eyes. Anyway, sorry to have hijacked this thread to talk about one of the most dynamic bands in rock. WWHDMD?

No, I am not the Handsomest Man in Rock n’ Roll, but I love the fact that you acknowledged the reference. I thought calling myself “Top Ten” or “Ross the Boss” might have been lost on all.
Plus, I felt like paying homage to one of NYC’s greatest stewards.
