House of the Day: 204 Clermont Avenue
After being listed since February for $2,500,000, the three-family brick house at 204 Clermont Avenue is now on the block for $1,950,000. Despite the significant price-cut, the asking price is still far from a lay-up: The house next door sold for $1,625,000 back in 2006. Plus, a not-so-photogenic extension means that there’s no backyard to speak of, a big negative for most family buyers.

wow, i get more and mrroe disheartened when I see Brownstoner’s interior design comments. since when does your taste rule the roost? You may not like granite, but to insult the many readers out there who probably do, is just stupid. Actually, I’m actually just going to come out and call you (Jonathan Butler) a jerk. Been reading this blog since late 2004 and it has steadily gone downhill.
2:44 no, stainless appliances are the avocado green of the current era.

lop another 25% off and it will sell
2 million for this pos?
you people are on drugs
as a designer i have to say generally speaking i am not a fan of most granites. the coloration and high-contrast speckling, mostly. however, i have come across a handful that are quite beautiful.
Serious question – I know “we” hate recessed lighting and all, but what is it with the granite now? Is it the color in this case or there just something declasse about the stone?
If that house is “rough around the edges” I’ll hate to see how my place gets described when I get around to selling. I house hunted for years before I bought in 2003, and very few places looked as good as this.
Since we are talking about spelling, could the resident Italian on this blog insist that we speak of CARRARA marble (named after the city in Tuscany near the quarries) instead of Carrera (the race, and the Porsche)? Pretty pretty please?
Location, Location, Location has a listing at 219 Clermont asking $2 million.

Compared to that listing, this one is a steal.
