House of the Day: 316 Maple Street
316 Maple Street has to be one of the more overpriced houses we’ve seen in a long time. The listing for the three-story brownstone does not include a single photo (rarely a good sign), mentioning only that there are original details. The listing for the three-story brownstone does not include a single photo (rarely a good sign), mentioning only that there are original details. It’s listed on Property Shark as a legal one-family but the listing makes it sound like it’s divided into two or three. What’s more, this is not prime PLG. Were this place in Lefferts Manor, the asking price of $1,200,000 might be doable. In the Nostrand-New York block though? Not a chance. $900,000 if they’re lucky, we’d guess.

Park Slope?!! Try ” White And Broke In PLG”
White and Proud in PLG why don’t get your white ass back to Park Slope.
Bob – we spoke a litle over a year ago about a certain beautful home on midwood that got away. it’s people such as yourself who take pride in their hood that make, and have always made, brooklyn such a special place to be. glad to see you’re still at it.
PS – i decided to move to a more descriptive username.
Well, at least I agree with your last sentence, but IMO you’ve picked an unfortunate “handle.”
A fake identity? Whatever could you mean by that? True, my social security card doesn’t say “White and Proud in PLG”, but I’m guessing yours doesn’t say “guest” either. More to the point, my handle is not a name at all but a description, one that I satisfy along with many others.
And Bob, I’ve lived in PLG for a good long while and I will not be leaving anytime soon. The future holds good things for our neighborhood, I think, and I look forward to watching the change.
Very likely–thank you for the reminder 5:34
I don’t think it’s worth addressing WPPLG because it’s just someone trying to provoke people. It’s a fake identity.
Kinda like I think a lot of people are going to be leaving Crown Heights because as was shown in the NY Times article from a few weeks ago…the boutiques aren’t opening up fast enough for the white folk.
I’m not sure what exactly these people expected when they moved into the fringe areas.
They certainly don’t seem to be doing much themselves to improve the area.
Unless they consider bitching about it, doing something.
Life must be very hard for “White and Proud in PLG.” [assuming he/she actually lives here] I just went through WPPLG’s past coments which include this gem:
“If you felt discriminated against then maybe next year you should keep your black ass in the projects.”
In my 30+ years in the neighborhood,I’ve met a[very] few white people who’ve expressed racist attitudes a little like that [albeit far less blatant]but they’ve generally left in a short time after realizing that their arrival doesn’t signal that the neighborhood is somehow magically going to become mostly white by TOMORROW.
