Landmarked Crown Heights Colonial Revival With Double Duplexes Asks $1.584 Million
This landmarked Crown Heights four-story has a distinctive Colonial Revival facade with a pair of wrought iron balconies and an unusual feature: separate entrances (and staircases) for its two units. Built in 1907, it’s in the Crown Heights North Historic District, at 30 Hampton Place.

Within is an upper duplex with three bedrooms and a lower unit you can call a triplex if you’re inclined to count the finished basement, which offers a rec room, a fourth bedroom and a half-bath. The bedrooms in both units are unusually large compared to those in most Brooklyn row houses.
Kitchens and baths are renovated (though the finishes may have some detractors), and in general the place looks to be well maintained and in move-in shape. There’s quite a bit of original early 20th century detail, including fireplace mantels, pillars and moldings. There are also original china closets and built-in shelves.

There’s a small deck in back and a bricked-in yard; the upper duplex has stairs leading to the roof, so perhaps a roof deck is in order. (There’s a skyline view up there.)
The house, listed by BH Tal broker Chaya Zarchi, is showing at an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 17.
The ask is $1.584 million, which comes to just under $400 a square foot. What are your thoughts?
