BoerumThis 4-story Queen Anne in Boerum Hill looks mighty nice to us. At $1.995 million, this is definitely at the upper end of the price range for the hood, but it may be worth it. Details galore: 8 fireplaces, crown moldings, center stair. The one-family limestone has new mechanicals and a South-facing yard to boot. So what’s the catch–besides the price? If you’ve gotten a peek, don’t be shy. Another question: Is this really a Nancy Mckiernan listing–there’s nothing on her website?

  1. I would be very wary of going through Nancy McKiernan for anything. Last year, my husband and I received the worst treatment ever while trying to purchase a house through them. They were untrustworthy, irresponsible, and frankly, very back-alley in their business style. If Tim Bettancourt – or better yet, one of the bigger agencies has it, like Corcoran or Brown Harris Stevens – I would go through them.

  2. Have seen this as well. The house is lovingly maintained, but pricy for what it is. House is narrow – 16-17 feet – and can’t work as anything but a single family. Townseley and Gay have a house on their website about 3 doors away that listed back in Sept for $1.325. Probably a mess inside, but I’d of taken that one.

  3. Have seen this house. It’s Park Slope — Prospect between 5th & 6th. It’s absolutely gorgeous and in mint condition. The catch is that it would be difficult to change into anything but the one-family home it currently is because it has a center staircase. The block is beautiful and for someone with the money, this will make a fabulous home.

  4. Agreed. My guess is the house is on Prospect Place between 5th and 6th Avenues — there are some very lovely Queen Anne’s in a row on the south side of the street.

As to the price, who knows? In very late 2002 or early 2003, I recall another Queen Anne in that stretch that needed a fair amount of work being sold for $900K or maybe 950K.
