This 4-story turn-of-the-century house looked like a very interesting proposition for the money when we first read the listing, but that’s because we took at face value the claim that it was in Prospect Heights. But upon closer inspection, this clearly is not even just a stretch, it’s a complete misrepresentation by broker Bond New York. Isn’t this considered Crown Heights? Falling even further in our estimation, Bond has also failed to provide any interior photos (Argghhh!) so we don’t have a hell of a lot to go on. All that said, the architecture’s not bad, the block’s decent (so they claim) and it’s sticker price is only $755,000, so we think it’s at least worth a look. The 3,900-square-foot place definitely will need a lot of TLC, we just hope it hasn’t been completely stripped of any charm on the inside. The big swing factor, in our opinion, is what the immediate neighborhood is like.
Revere Place [Bond NY] GMAP
I am on that block the other day…I don’t recall a house like that on Revere Pl. It’s only one block long between Dean/Bergen Sts. Just the other day, I saw two people taking pictures of homes and they said they were doing a survey for Crown Heights Landmarks…So, I guess the Crown Heights Historical Landmarks are coming soon!!

Crown Heights has some of the finest and most architecturally diverse limestone, brownstone, and brick townhouses and mansions around — this in a (mostly) safe neighborhood (more so than much of Bed Stuy). To take the B44 up New York Avenue through the neighborhood is a real treat. When will there be a Crown Heights Historic District?

A 3900 sq ft brownstone in good condition on a nice block in Prospect Heights, not Crown Heights, could easily go for twice this amount.
The block is beautiful, and the area is very charming. If the inside is at all decent, a no-brainer at or around asking.
Yes, it is Crown Heights, but so what! I don’t think brownstones in Prospect Heights go for this price. Unfortunately, people will only consider Crown Heights after it has become too expensive. And yes, I do live in Crown Heights, it isn’t Prospect Heights, but I’m proud of it!
