We caught a lot of crap from one of the Brooklyn Properties brokers working the 303 Washington open house a few weeks ago for tempering some of our initial enthusiasm after taking a cursory look at the parlor floor of the house. We went from thinking the house would go for over the $2.3 million ask based upon the photos to saying that the seller would be lucky to get the ask. It looks like the seller is coming around to that view and has cut the asking price to $2.125 million. We bet there will be buyers at this level, don’t you?

  1. Of course $2.3 or $2.1 is lot of money for a house and expect great condition.
But this is way large – and maybe easyily condo’ed – or 3 folks buy together – Its over 1700sqft per floor.
What does a 1700sq ft condo cost on Washington Avenue?

  2. 6:11, I stand corrected. I didn’t see the house in person. I’m only judging from the photos, which are lovely. I assumed the whole house looked like this and you know what happens when you assume….

  3. Enough with the troll crap. In the case of this house it was WAY overpriced to begin with. To a very few of you 2.3 million might not be a lot but I’d venture to say for most of us it is an extremely A LOT of money and the house would have to be PERFECT to justify that asking price. Then there is the fact that most of us can’t afford that much for a house to live in. So, the people who can buy want perfection at that price range, otherwise the place is overpriced, such as this house.

  4. I’m sure you did catch a lot of crap from the Broker, Mr. Brownstoner.

And what’s all the interest in keeping down the value of Brooklyn Brownstones down? Are we FOR Brooklyn or AGAINST it?

Why don’t we limit all discussion about real estate values to comparisons with Manhattan townhomes. That seems like it would be more meaningful.
