So it goes: The Clarett Group has officially ceded control of the Forte condo. A deed transfer recorded last week for $42.3 million to Eurohypo bank means the lender now has control of 72 units in the building. According to the deed document, Clarett and Eurohypo struck the deal way back in April, but it didn’t close until a couple of weeks ago.

  1. One of the problems with this building was that too many apartments were at the lot line. If another building were to be built along the common lot line, they would lose the windows in that area; challenging the selling point of a bright breezy apartment.

  2. I hope they open a “Soul Glow” boutique in Forte’s commercial space…Anyway, it may not be as handsome as Toren but its location in the BAM histric distric more than makes up for it. Besides, you will spend more time looking out of your condo windows than looking at the building.

  3. I’ve long thought this was one of the worst-looking buildings I’d seen in some time. Earlier, I thought it was just unfinished. Now I realize it’s not unfinished – it’s just unattractive.
