Who knows what the story is on this glorious wood frame mansion on South Oxford near Hanson Place? Every time we drive by we’re struck with pangs of envy. This weekend we just had to get out and snap a photo. There must be some interesting history here. Anyone?

  1. It was bought in 2000 by a Belgian painter who studied art at Pratt. Its about 7000 sq feet and a legal two.

There is a South Oxford Street “legend” that suggests this used to be a funeral home. Evidently folks in the adjoining nursing home would simply be lowered there when they passed on.
