This is one of the most—if not the most—valuable townhouses we’ve seen fall into the foreclosure hole in this market cycle. The four-story, two-family house has a lien of $990,000 on it and, depending on the condition of the interiors are in, would fetch over $1,500,000 on the open market. Kinda makes you wonder why the owner doesn’t just sell it quickly at a small discount, pay off the lien and keep the difference.

  1. 9:09, I have no idea what you have ever added to this blog because you sign in as a guest, so please point us to any of your contribution(s) to a “real discussion”. Why don’t you have the balls to sign in so we can track and critique everything you post?

Oh, because you’ve never made a real point. Got it. Thanks…

  2. 5:49:

“where do the 85 year old grandmothers go when they lived in an apt for 30 years, dont you care?”

Some of us do care, but I won’t even ascribe my false name to such a claim. This is a puerile forum, not real discussion. Don’t think we’re all asses- but don’t take the in-jokes for lack of concern.

  3. Biff and Dave, please get a job. Biff claims he has one, but it can’t be terribly demanding or he wouldn’t post so frequently.

It’s really tiresome to have wade through all of the taunting back and forth to get to real discussion. If you want to comment on the topic at hand, do so, but please lay off the sophomoric name-calling. I’m sure there are other fora where you can indulge this, but this really isn’t the place.

  4. 5:49 is easily the most pathetic, ignorant excuse for a human i have ever heard post on this site. Do you think you are entitled to all that you propose because you are sorry for yourself and can’t bear that other people have succeeded at their own expense? Grow up and get a life

  5. 5:49 Don’t you know the suburbs are the new ghettos? Take a bus to NJ and get comfy. We can find someone more educated than you to serve us our coffee or ring us up at the store anyway. Buh bye.

  6. 5:49: When are you leaving NYC? You sorry sack of crap. You don’t deserve to live in this city. And if you didn’t prepare yourself for the obvious changes that have been taking place in this city since the 70’s – e.g. the loss of manufacturing jobs, the need for an education to get ahead and earn a decent wage, then you are an idiot. The poor are too busy trying to impress with their fashion, ipods and leased cars that they don’t bother rising up. They would rather steal from the local bodega for food the the Rent-a-Center for a new flat screen than get off their asses and improve their lives.

Take a lesson from the immigrants who have come here with nothing, worked their asses off and got ahead. If they can you, do should have been able to do it too. But you are dumb and lazy and now you are paying the price.

Get out and shut the door behind you as you leave.

  7. 5:56, that’s all you got? That you don’t like my name? It’s really hard to argue with an intellectual such as yourself who cites Back to the Future in an attempt to insult. Oh, I’m in such fear you may come up with another zinger – perhaps from Sixteen Candles or St. Elmo’s Fire – you comedic genius, you. Please try to make a point or at least sharpen your pathetic attempts to attack next time, loser.

  8. “Biff Champion” – does anyone else who reads that think that Biff is a ridiculous name? When I see Biff what comes to mind is Biff Tannen the know it all antagonist to Marty McFly who regularly ends up under a truck load of manure. Maybe that’s appropriate since the Biff here shovels it.

  9. “Biff Champiom” – does anyone else who reads that think that Biff is a ridiculous name? When I see Biff what comes to mind is Biff Tannen the know it all antagonist to Marty McFly who regularly ends up under a truck load of manure. Maybe that’s appropriate since the Biff here shovels it.
