Further down the block at 48 South Portland was arguably the most sumptuous renovation we saw on the tour. The couple who bought the house in 1997 appear to have cut no corners in their gut reno of the former dilapidated 4-family brownstone; some of the choices they made in the kitchen weren’t totally up our alley but the house had a wonderfully grand and airy feel, especially on a day like Sunday with the doors open to the deck overlooking the garden. Now THAT made me chuckle!
why I have I never noticed that flatbush has the potential to be flabtush?
don’t get me started. TimeWarner is terrible in this respect– they contract out all of their wiring services, so you never get the same company twice, and all of them have their own way of doing it– so it’s easy to end up with a big tangle of wires that don’t even give you cable tv. we had to get a supervisor out eventually to undo all of the crappy wiring & make our cable work.
So where do the wires go? Or are many of them redundant and can simply be removed?
The worst offender is the phone company and a lot of their wires are defunct. Oh, and old cable TV wires. Btw, they are not meant to lay any wires or cables on the ground — including from the pole through your backyard.
so, where do they attach the wires? there has to be some point of entry, no? this is for phone/cable right?
don’t worry, we’re not starting our renovation until next year, so we won’t tie up the utility guys on you!
Thanks, that’s what 48 So Portland owner said – utilities do it for you BUT now you guys don’t call and jam them up until we’ve done ours. LOL.
Wow, that’s a great piece of information, 2:34. Care to share any more? Who do you call?
