Dumbo Brooklyn Apartment for Rent -- 37 Bridge Street

This two-bedroom, two-bath unit is part of the Kirkman Lofts, which launched in 2011 in a converted soap factory at 37 Bridge Street in Dumbo. It’s got a loft-like feel, with high, beamed ceilings and oversized windows that let in a ton of light and offer a sweeping vista (but don’t appear to offer a river view, though).

The master bedroom is 12 by 14 feet with an en suite bath; the other bedroom is modest, at just over 10 by 10 feet, but it’s got a pair of those oversized windows and a second exposure as well.

The small, open-plan kitchen is cute and stylish, with a Bertazzoni range and matte gray counters. There’s a washer and dryer stacked in a closet in the front foyer.

As for building amenities, we’re looking at a gym, a pair of outdoors spaces including a roof deck that does offer a river view, and a “virtually attended lobby.”

The place — which will be shown at an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 23 — is listed by Julie Leedes Bienstock of Halstead; the price is $5,350 a month. Which is not inconsiderable, and may well explain why the unit has gone unclaimed since it went up for rent in early December. Think they’ll need to come down, or will an aspiring Dumbo dweller step up at that price?
