A couple of Bed Stuy readers wrote in to say they had received letters from Corcoran soliciting their business. This is a change for Bed Stuy, where residents are more accustomed to letters from flippers offering to pay “all cash” for houses in “any condition” and from shady outfits posing as government agencies supposedly offering money for repairs. “No one is building new brownstones,” the letter said, predicting prices will only continue to rise. It also stated $1.34 million is the record high for Bed Stuy. Actually, that is the highest price paid for a single family home. The Parfitt-designed brownstone at 254 Gates Avenue set the record earlier this year for $2.2 million, eclipsing, yes, Barbara Corcoran’s previous record. Click through to the jump to see the letter.
