$1,195,000 is a lot of dough for a single-floor apartment but then again this parlor floor pad at 24 Montgomery Place in Park Slope is hardly run-of-the-mill. The original details are stunning and the location is obviously first-rate so we wouldn’t write this one off as being overpriced. The only drawback is that the railroad-y configuration doesn’t lend itself very well to having a second bedroom. Thoughts?

BH…wasn’t it you who wanted to borrow my smoking jacket once?

Actually, that was a white jacket for an 80s theme party. But I’m sure your Miami Vice look is just as stunning as your Joe Camel(toe).

  2. Back to the property at hand: I think the floor is really beautiful, but with sooooooo much dark wood, albeit NICE wood, I can see what later generations tended to paint over woodwork. It can get a bit oppressive. I’ve often wondered if the finishes were quite that dark a century ago or if they darkened with age.
