This 15th-floor listing at 9 Prospect Park West just hit the market with a price tag of $3,495,000. The four-bedroom pad has clearly had a no-expense-spared renovation that has resulted in some very impressive finishes while sacrificing some of the prewar vibe that personally we’d want from an apartment in this building. And while we the whole look is a little “over-designed” for our taste, the apartment is still pretty darn impressive, from the insane views over the park to a beautifully done (and massive) eat-in kitchen. Places like this don’t come cheap: The asking price is $3,495,000, and the new owner will be responsible for carrying a monthly maintenance charge of $3,930.

  1. Who cares? The view from outside these windows is no doubt even MORE beautiful than the enhanced version which were probably done because photos with leaves on the trees look better than with winter trees.

I’m sure the view is far more stunning in real life so why harp on it?

  2. Ummm… how would one “color enhance” if not by Photoshop or some similar program? They have clearly been doctored… and poorly I might add. The sky is fake in all of them, including the one just showing the view. What is that flat brown area near the horizon? Looks like wheat fields or something. Oh it’s a beautiful sunny day with a bright blue sky and there are no shadows on ANY of the buildings? Yeah that happens all the time…

  3. wow, I am truly amazed, a kitchen with a table a chairs, well, I’ll be…..

so there are window a/c units, big deal.
they go in the window at the end of June come out end of September, the rest of the time they are in the closet and you don’t have the windows blocked….

oh wait, that’s what I do, i take the a/c’s out of the windows for the un-used season, but that’s just me, people don’t do that, they leave them in forever….

  4. Um, is that a picasso over the bed or just a bad picasso copy? Such an odd vibe for an older building. And for that much, you’d think you’d have bought the priviledge of not hauling your ac in and out of your window twice a year.

  5. The view might be color-enhanced, but I don’t think it’s Photoshopped. At the very least, it’s about right for the height of the place and where the rooms are situated. I’ve been in high-floor apartments in all three of the tall PPW prewars so I’ve seen it in person.
