This one-bedroom at 96 Portland Avenue in Fort Greene did not fare too well when it was on the market back in 2009. The building, which fronts on Fulton Street, isn’t fancy but it actually has a nice vibe in an understated way. A year and a half ago it was listed for $465,000, a price that we called “laughably high” at the time; now it’s come back on the market with a price tag of $435,000. A lower price combined with a slightly better market certainly gives it improved chances of selling. It’ll be interesting to see how close to ask they can get.

  1. If I am picturing the corner correctly, this is right over the Greene Grape Provisions store? Across the street from Habana? Two strikes. I wouldn’t want the deliveries, etc., to a grocery to be underneath me, nor everyone hanging out on the benches in front. But more importantly, living across from Habana is … well, as BIH noted, peaceful during the winter.

  2. It looks nice and I’d love to live around there, but I wonder about noise. Being right on this part of Fulton could be a little chaotic. Habana Outpost in the summer is madness.
