If you are a fan of old architectural detail and you don’t mind a railroad configuration, the asking price of $660,000 for this three-bedroom co-op at 560 Dean Street in Prospect Heights might sound pretty good. The only major drawback, other than the lack of elevator, is the small size of two of the bedrooms. But, heck, they’re big enough for a child’s single bed! What do you make of this place?

  1. I have a soft spot for this kind of old-fashioned apartment. Just looks like a classic New York space. My guess is the bedrooms in back (facing Bergen St) would be pretty quiet. In respect of AY, it’s worth noting that while the traffic on Dean St has become a real bummer in recent months because of construction, this building will ultimately be somewhat shielded because the enormous News Walk building is between it and the AY footprint.

What does drive me a little nutty is that the obviously new oak strip flooring has been laid in THREE different directions! Oy.

  2. As long as its free I’ll keep jabbing, TYVM.

JB had a great thing before sold out. Its cool, though, we all got bills to pay and mouths to feed. Everyone has a price, and integrity is just fancy smancy word that lost its meaning a long, long time ago.

  3. 60% overvalued like the market at large but not a bad caboose. There’s space for a shower stall in the 1/2 bath – close to impossible to get approved by the board?
