building floor plan
Built in 1964, the 153-unit co-op building at 40 Clinton Street had six apartments turn over last year, the most expensive being an 11th Floor sponsor unit that went for $595,000. Now there’s a 725-square-foot one-bedroom on the market for $460,000 with a $760 maintenance that looks pretty decent to us for what it is. The layout looks pretty good and the building has some nice touches like a part-time doorman and a common roof deck. Given the era this was built, we doubt there’s much in the way of architectural charm but there are lots of closets and probably decent light. Can anyone speak to the interiors on this building?

  1. Why is everyone being so mean? I mean you sound like a bunch of drama ridden teenagers. Both locations have their positives and negatives – no one has to be “right” in this situation. A friendly debate is fine but this is child-like.

    Concord Village:
    positives: cheaper, great views, cheaper
negatives: sits on brooklyn bridge/pollution, far walk to shopping, fewer convenient subways, technically not in brooklyn heights

    40 Clinton:
positives: great super, location to subway, is in brooklyn heights
negatives: not on tree lined street, hallways needs updating

  2. ….alilove,
I guess we all have our pros and cons… Brooklyn Bridge traffic-noise (depending where you live in Concord Village) is minimal and pollution is negligible…as far as cabs are concerned, why pay any cab fare – when a subway is “only a block and a half” away?
If you love where you live great…enjoy it!
At least we all live in Brooklyn and not that over-priced, under-creative, gated-community, called Manhattan….

  3. “more bang for the buck at Concord Village…”

More pollution too. It is right over all that none stop Brooklyn Bridge traffic.
At least this building is on a quiet street. Easy to get a cab and only a block and a half from the nearest train station. and you don’t have to cross eight lanes of traffic to get anywhere.

  4. Please, Concord Village is far superior. Full-time doorman, real cheap gym…apartments are bigger – the corner one bedrooms have windowed bathrooms, most apts have windowed kitchens, the views are a magnificent, great mgmt staff, and the apts are a lot less expensive…more bang for the buck at Concord Village….check out their site and floor plans….

  5. So many haters. I live in the building, and no, not the one for sale. It is a great building. Great staff, good board, etc. Personally, I think the location is great. Awesome cab spot and its near everything. You can’t compare it with Concord Village. I lived here for 6 years and couldn’t be happier.
