co-op
We didn’t set out this week with a plan to pillory Brooklyn Heights co-ops, but that’s sure how it’s turning out. On Monday, we raised an eyebrow at a Hicks Street apartment asking $2.85 million. Today, we take a look at a three-bedroom co-op on Willow Street that is in a charming building and looks like a fine apartment but, like Monday’s listing, lacks a certain je ne sais quoi. Granted, this one is only $1.585 million, but we still have a hard time seeing anyone ponying up this kind of scratch for an apartment that lacks any kind of wow factor. Are we just being a big grump about this? Also, what’s the exact address of this place?

  1. This does not back onto Love Lane (which is between Hicks and Henry). It is on a beautiful stretch of Willow and the building is right next door to the lovely carriage house and the three old rowhouses on the walking tours. That price is out there, though, for what is essentially a 2BR.

  2. It’s 149 Willow. I saw it this past weekend. I agree with you – it’s nice but lacks the wow factor. The kitchen/dining room was great but the rest of the apartment was nothing too spectacular. Also, no washer/dryer, the fireplace doesn’t work, and the master bathroom only has a tub and no shower. I admit that these things are all workable, but for that kind of price I’m not so sure.
