So it should come as no surprise that the remaining three apartments just received another price cut: Apartment 1 from $999,000 to $965,000; 543 Dean Street, Apartment 2 from $799,000 to $765,000; 543 Dean Street, Apartment 4 from $975,000 to $939,000. None of these are exactly dramatic reductions so we’ll be surprised if they generate a new wave of interest. Much more important to the project’s prospects: Clarification on what the future holds for Atlantic Yards.

BTW If you going to buy a house and need a Jumbo Mortgage you are FUCKED! Come Monday most of the banks will only do 80% LTV and that’s at 700 fico! Anything lower than that you will to put more money down. Plus Equity Lines of Credit are being frozen! I hope you wasn’t counting on that.

i am willing to discuss this property. i was looking a lower level duplex condo’s when the market was good, and this is WAY overpriced even for a good market. there was better stuff for less less money (looked at washington condos at a great place for $750Kish) in this neighborhood and certainly in other better hoods like williamsburg (IMO).
i am at a loss as to the thinking here.
the what left for the same reason everyone else did – he can’t call the sky is falling after it’s already fallen. There’s only so many times you can say I told you so. I think this site will pick up when prices actually start falling – right now sellers and buyers are in a stand off – the markets a mess but the sellers won’t come down. ONce they do we can get in big fights over which neighborhood is doing the worst instead of the best… and whether something is a bargain, etc etc.

It’s less funny, too. In fact, the What is about 100X as funny as The Unholy Three, and at least he’s certifiable nut job, not a nut-job-in-guise-of-sane-people, like the members of the Unholy Three. OK, maybe these guys, and the posting problems aren’t KILLING the site, but they haven’t helped! There’s no denying the Unholy Three come off as pompus, thin-skinned and annoying. And not funny.
Oh, and so that Boof Chumpion is satisfied that I’m “staying on topic,” I used to live a few doors down from this place (at 521 Dean) and it’s got to come down more before if sees a buyer. It’s a good block, not great, and AY (which I support) nevertheless will have an impact on the lifestyle there.
