Sales launched at 535 Throop in Bed Stuy last week, and already two of the four units in the building have accepted offers. The circa-1900 building (at left above) was recently converted to condos from rentals by its new owner, developer Crown Investments of Great Neck, N.Y., who also has two other projects in Bed Stuy coming to market soon.
We toured the condos when they were under construction in August. Prices for the two-bedroom, two-bath units range from $599,000 to $649,000 — about $600 a square foot for the approximately 1,000-square-foot floor through apartments, according to StreetEasy. The units have Ceasarstone counters, GE appliances, exposed brick, central air, a washer-dryer hookup in each unit, dishwashers, and subway tile. In fact, the subway tile on the kitchen backsplashes is silver!
In 2011, we reported that 535 Throop, in foreclosure, had sold and would be torn down. Luckily, we were wrong.

Windows and faucet aside, I do like the layouts here.
But $600/sf seems a little on the high side, no? Or are we there for a Bed Stuy condo?
