This one managed to keep the original floors as well as some other details like plaster moldings and a fireplace and didn’t too bad a job on the kitchen either, all of which translates into a big win in the sponsor category. The monthly expenses on the one-bedroom total $620 and the asking price is $449,000. Think they’ll get it?

IT’S A HALF A MILLION DOLLARS!
oh, I meant for a rich person moving out from Mom and Dads House, not necessarily poe folk like us.
Exactly, mopar: This is half a freakin’ apartment. And the only bathroom having to be in the bedroom is just….no. Yes, nice detail left, and I don’t mind the renovation. But it’s very hard to cut a nicely proportioned apt. in half and have something left that feels comfortable. I would pass on this.
Yikes, they really chopped this one up good. This is half an original apartment. The living room is the living room, the bedroom is the dining room, the bath is 1/4 of what would have originally been a kitchen. I just hate these little spaces carved up out of other bigger spaces, would rather just have an apartment as originally designed if possible.
The bathroom tile is gorgeous. The finish on the kitchen cabinets is ugly but that can be fixed.
Overall, it is very small for the price, certainly not the 700 feet they claim, but wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the going rate in Park Slope these days.

*rob*
I used to live in this building (before marriage and kids). The apartments are actually quite nice and have historic charm. The location is great, except for all the Union St. traffic and noise. And it’s a walk-up, with no laundry facilities in the building.
My place is 500 sq ft, and it looks bigger than this (based on the pics). I don’t think all my stuff would even fit in that apt, which is supposedly 40% bigger.
Pass.
Ugly kitchen – already dated, as far as I’m concerned.
Small apartment. Lousy layout. Noisy street.
Price high for what it is.
Pass.
Way, way too small. The kitchen cabinetry is ugly as sin, and in a few years will be considered totally dated.

It’s a bit on the small side, and only has one smallish closet. But it will probably get close to ask, cuz peoples luvs them some Park Slope.
