When 609 Myrtle was under construction back in early 2006, there was disagreement among readers about how a “luxury development” would fare on this stretch of Kent Avenue. By later that year, though, several units were already in contract and the project appeared to be on its way to a successful completion. One of the units–a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the fourth floor–is now up for resale. We’re liking the living room with its floor-to-ceiling windows and the finishes in the kitchen; the bedroom is big enough if a little boxy and bland. The 1,000-square-foot pad, which sold for $549,855 in 2008, is asking $580,000. Bonus: the unit comes with free parking.

If you think the architect has anything to do with these being ugly, small, and expensive, then you don’t know anything about architecture.
A “luxury” condo that has a cut-out passthrough from the kitchen??
What is with these walls of glass, like you have the shittiest views anyway….
it is like living in a fish bowl.
Ugly !!!
I think our architects need to go back to designing school again, since so far everything new is really freaking ugly, small and expensive.
dont like the prices but like that these new construction was built. dont miss whatever this was build over on
that is one seriously ugly bathroom. Seems inspired by a 1980’s high school locker room. yuck!
Yeah there shouldn’t be any transfer taxes so that is a plus for any buyer now looking for new condo resales – however unless the seller has put some work into this apartment, asking $30K more than they paid in 2008 is a bit of a stretch…no?
Rob — it has a dishwasher!
the term luxury is SERIOUSLY thrown around too casually these days… am i missing something? where the hell are the luxuries?
