Condo of the Day: 70 Washington Street, #7E
This 800-square-foot one-bedroom at 70 Washington Street in Dumbo has been bouncing around for some time. It started out in February of 2008 with Sotheby’s asking $799,00 and never sold. Elliman got the nod back in May, kicking off its campaign with an asking price of $745,000. The price was reduced to $699,000 in July,…

Elliman got the nod back in May, kicking off its campaign with an asking price of $745,000. The price was reduced to $699,000 in July, which is where it sits now. While hardly a give-away, the $871-per-square-foot level is actually on the low side for the building. What do you think it’ll take to get this baby sold?

I just hate the kitchen / Living room layouts. They are all the same.
Does anyone like having a seperate kitchen with a normal table and chairs seperate from the Living Room anymore, or is it just cheaper for the builders to make one room and shove cabinets in the corner??????
Honestly, I don’t know how they got that exterior shot. The only open space abutting this building is on the long side, not the short side. There’s a parking lot on the south side.
Yeah, that photo they show of the exterior of the building is super deceptive: That side of the building is practically touching the BQE and the entrance ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Also, the interior photos are gloomy. If they reshot them with better lighting it’d make a big difference.
Great building. Unfortunately, this particular unit is right up against the bridge. Between the pollution and noise, you would never want to open any of the 3 windows.
It’s nice but does anyone else think this sort of thing will look hopelessly dated in about five years? I think those ceiling lamps are already sort of cliched.
