Fort Greene Co-op With Two Bedrooms, Walk-in Closet, Mantel, Private Roof Deck Asks $849K
This co-op offers offers good sized bedrooms, good light, decent space, a washer/dryer and a private roof deck, for well under $1 million.

This Fort Greene co-op offers two good sized bedrooms, good light, decent space, a washer/dryer and a private roof deck, for well under $1 million. It’s on the fourth floor of a circa 1857 Italianate brick row house, at 154 Lafayette Avenue in the Fort Greene Historic District.
Called “Boho Chic” in the listing, it looks pretty straightforward to us; not that there’s anything wrong with that. The two bedrooms are in the rear, one with a walk-in closet, one with a wall of built-ins.
Up front is an open kitchen and a living space, divided by a stone-topped counter. The house is 22 feet wide, so there’s ample space here, and three large windows overlooking the street.
There’s also a mantel (an interesting looking one that may or may not be original) with built-in bookcases to either side.

There’s a sole bathroom, which is serviceable enough, but could be improved on if you’ve got the cash for a redo. The apartment also has decent storage space, with a walk-in closet off the master bedroom, a double closet in the hall, and a laundry room that looks like it ought to offer some additional capacity.
And as mentioned, there’s a private roof deck, accessible via a circular staircase. It’s not pictured; hopefully they’re not following the current trend toward claiming a roof deck when “roof” would be more accurate.
Listed by Jeff Gardner of Corcoran, the unit is asking $849,000 and monthly fees come to $738. What do you think?
