Co-op of the Day: 118 8th Avenue, #8E
This prewar two-bedroom at 118 8th Avenue just hit the market with an asking price of $995,000. The eighth-floor co-op has lovely light and windows and there’s a dining alcove off the kitchen. No precise square footage measurement is provided but we’re guessing this asking price is coming in at around $1,000 a foot.

I live directly across from this building. They just removed scaffolding that was up for a building-wide window replacement. My building currently has a 2BD with parking for $1,080,000 that was in contract within 4 weeks, and last year another 2BD with parking in my building sold for $1,150,000, which was over the ask of $995,000. So it looks like ~$1mil is the going rate for 2BDs in north slope.
Nicely located for PS 321 and all the local private schools. Other than that, it’s nice but I can think of better ways to spend a million. Also not a million-dollar kitchen.
Not to nitpick too much, but 8th Ave. is not “across the street” from Prospect Park last time I checked.
Only one bath, tiny second bedroom, no outdoor space, maintenance of $1500+, and nearly a million dollars? Ridiculous.
Who needs out door space when prospect park just right across the street.
Anybody who wants PRIVATE outdoor space?
