The world-renowned Red Hook Criterium is happening this Saturday, June 8. It’ll be one of the largest events to ever take place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. So what to expect at the Red Hook Crit? It’s a nighttime bicycle race that covers 26 laps on a short, technical circuit. Athletes from around the world are coming out to compete. Traditionally held in Red Hook and Milano, Italy, this is the first year the race will be at the Navy Yard. (BLDG 92 is holding an afternoon bike tour beforehand.) The bicycle race also includes a 5k running race held on the same evening and on the same course. Spectators are more than welcome to attend. To register and for more details about the event, go here. And here’s a video of race footage from round one, which took place in Red Hook on March 30.
