Homes For Sale In Brooklyn

Who doesn’t get excited about a Brooklyn house for under a million dollars? Or a condo or co-op for less than half of that? Most of this week’s top listings fall into one of those two categories.

Which would you choose?

10. This sunny one-bedroom duplex comes with two full bathrooms, a washer/dryer, and shared roof terrace with Manhattan views. But it comes with a catch — the buyer needs to pay cash and the apartment is occupied by a renter until July. Also, it’s a good 10-15 minute walk to the nearest train. But those windows!

8. On Prospect Place in Prospect Heights is an Italianate brick house that’s on the market for the first time in over 50 years and was last week’s No. 1 listing. It’s got some original detail, including moldings and fireplace mantels, but may need some updating, going by the photos. Dating back to 1872, according to the listing, it’s landmarked, sitting within the Prospect Heights Historic District.

7. Just a short walk to Prospect Park, this single-family house, which keeps its spot at No. 7 this week, probably has a lot of potential. However, the lack of interior photos and the ultra-low price tag might raise a red flag or two. But if you’re in the mood for an adventurous renovation, you might do well to investigate this 1,500-square-foot three-bedroom. The location is pretty good.

Just a three-minute stroll from the Chauncey Street J/Z station and a few blocks from the Bushwcick-Aberdeen L, this recently renovated townhouse has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms in the upper duplex, plus a one-bedroom basement apartment. Based on the photos, it looks like this home is truly move-in ready.

It’s been renovated, with original details left intact, including a mahogany center staircase, plaster moldings, four fireplaces (two working) and inlaid hardwood floors. There’s a massive four-bedroom quadplex for the owner and a one-bedroom garden rental. Lovely yard, which the owner can access from a parlor-level deck.

1. This cute shingled townhouse — which tops the list after being No. 4 last week — has three bedrooms and two baths with a full-floor rec room on the lower level leading out to the backyard. The home is also just two blocks from Owl’s Head Park. The kitchen could use some updates, but overall it’s a sweet find.
