The holidays are in the rear-view mirror and a new year’s begun, and what this means is clear: 52 weekends of open houses in 2017, give or take a holiday here and there. New and old, tattered wrecks and gleaming edifices, astronomically priced and, uh, somewhat less astronomically priced — they’ll be coming your way, and it all starts with this week’s picks. You’ll find them in Bed Stuy, Bushwick and Greenpoint.

First up, a flip on Monroe Street in Bed Stuy. It’s been gut renovated and everything’s new, including a finished basement. The 20-foot-wide house has a lower triplex with an open-plan living room and kitchen above, three bedrooms on the garden level and the finished basement below. There’s a duplex up top with five bedrooms, four on top and one sharing the lower level with the kitchen and living room. There’s exposed brick, recessed lighting, and a small deck in the back that leads down to the sparse backyard, which has been outfitted with a pair of concrete patios.

Another flip awaits on Jefferson Avenue in Bushwick. Also 20 feet wide and gut renovated, this one’s a three-story, with a two-bedroom garden rental. The listing references an owner’s triplex, which confuses given that there’s not a fourth story — there’s no floor plan to clear up the confusion.

Maybe they slipped in an extra story and are not counting the garden floor? In any case, the owner’s unit’s got three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, with an open plan living space that includes a kitchen with granite countertops, an island, a six-burner commercial-grade stove and a French-doored stainless steel refrigerator.

There’s central a/c, a video intercom system, two washer-dryer hookups, and a large “roof deck” that appears to be just a regular asphalt roof with a railing around it.

Next stop is Kent Street in Greenpoint, where we find a sliver of a house, around 12 feet wide. Close to the Greenpoint Avenue G station, it’s a single family with three stories, holding three bedrooms, a living room, dining room and kitchen, and a small roof deck. There’s a bit of detail, including tin ceilings and a mantel; pictured floors are covered with linoleum or carpet. It’d benefit from some updating — “a perfect blank canvas,” the listing calls it.

It’s back to Bushwick for the last one, a yellow-brick two-story with a bay front. Twenty feet wide and 55 feet deep, it holds a pair of floor-through apartments, whose exact layout is unclear without a floor plan. There’s also an English basement, currently unfinished. Photos are few, and suggest some work is in order; there are original details though, including stained glass, a pier mirror, built-in cabinets, moldings and ceiling medallions.
