Four Houses Under $1.4 Million to See on Father's Day
For Father’s Day house peeping we’ve got four candidates on the lower end of the price scale — they top out at $1.4 million, and three are below the $1 million mark. Two are newly renovated flips, another is in move-in shape, and one could use some attention. They’re found in Bed Stuy, Kensington, Fort Hamilton and East Flatbush.
On Somers Street in Bed Stuy, we’re looking at a two-family townhouse with a facade of painted brick. This one’s a flip, thoroughly renovated with new kitchens and baths and central A/C. There are a few original fireplaces, and some exposed brick. The house has a one-bedroom rental on the garden level, and above is an owner’s duplex with three bedrooms and an open living space (though the kitchen is partitioned by a brick wall). The basement is finished.
In Kensington on East 9th Street, we’ve got a two-story rowhouse that’s pitched as an investment property. While you wouldn’t guess it by a look at the facade, it’s a deep house with four units within, two one-bedrooms and a pair of two-bedrooms. It could use some updating.
Moving out to Fort Hamilton, up for viewing is a one-family semi-detached brick house with an interior garage. It’s got three bedrooms on the top floor, and below is a living room and eat-in kitchen (from which you can spy the Verrazano Bridge). There’s an additional room and full bath on the garage level, and attic storage. It looks to be in great shape, though the kitchen could use an upgrade.
The last stop is East Flatbush, where we encounter another semi-detached single family, this one with a front garden and a brick-and-shingle facade. Narrow at 16 feet, it’s newly renovated and offers three bedrooms, a large open living/dining room, and a tile-floored finished basement with a full bath and a separate side entrance. There’s a shared driveway and a one-car garage.
