On a park block in central Park Slope, this spacious four-story Garfield Place brownstone has a bay tower and an elegant, detail-filled triple parlor. It’s got crown moldings, wainscoting, bay windows in the front and rear, built-in china cabinets, a wood-paneled dining room with a coffered ceiling, and a pair of mantels, including a deluxe one in the dining room that stretches near up ceiling height.

You can call the owner’s quarters a triplex if you’re inclined to count the garden floor, which in this case is actually a finished basement housing all the mechanicals as well as a wood-floored rec room, a “gym,” a home office and a “spa-experience bathroom.”

The second floor has three bedrooms — the smallest is a mere seven feet wide, but the master is quite spacious, with an en suite bath and front-facing bay windows.

On the top floor are two small apartments, a one-bedroom and a studio. When we featured this place as a House of the Day back in 2012, commenters asserted that the units had rent-regulated tenants in place. If true then, it may still be true, but the listing doesn’t specify one way or the other.

The kitchen, housed in a rear extension is nicely renovated, with white cabinetry and marble countertops. Baths are new, according to the listing, from Halstead brokers Peter Grazioli and Kate Piccardwhich. It also says mechanicals have been recently updated, and there’s central air.

The house — which, by the way, sold for $2.5 million last time we featured it — is now asking $4.1 million. Taxes run $14,378 a year. What’s your take on the house, and the asking price?
