Brooklyn Real Estate Six Months Later: Three Sold, One Still Available

    by

This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Bay Ridge, Marine Park and Park Slope. How did they fare?

In Bay Ridge, this apartment offers up a generously sized layout, some prewar details and a renovated kitchen. It is in the Tudor-style 7901 4th Avenue, which occupies the full blockfront between 79th and 80th streets. With not one but two foyers and a large open living and dining room with two exposures, the apartment offers a bit of flexibility in layout. It has two bedrooms, two baths plus work from home space. Features in the combined living and dining room include five windows on two walls, wood floors with inlaid borders and picture rail moldings. This former Co-op of the Day is still available at the same asking price of $619,000.

In Marine Park, a circa 1920s Craftsman-style house combines original details with modern updates and a garage to boot. The freestanding single-family house at 1750 Madison Place has plenty of curb appeal with its hipped roof, dormer window and bank of windows wrapping around a sunroom. Inside, the layout is modern, with entertaining rooms on the first floor and bedrooms above. Original details include woodwork, stained glass and French doors. This former House of the Day sold in September for the asking price of $999,000.

While this 1880s Park Slope brownstone has original woodwork and plaster details, for some the true lure might be the outdoor space. On a stretch of Garfield Place that includes 150-foot-deep lots, it has a glass-ceilinged sunroom leading out to a brick patio and large rear yard. The 17-foot-wide two-family house is set up as a single-family with dining room, kitchen and sunroom on the garden level, parlors above and two floors of bedroom space. This former House of the Day sold in September for $3.8 million, which was $50,000 over the asking price.

In the Park Slope Historic District, this late 19th century Queen Anne brownstone is set up as a two-family with two duplexes. Not far from Prospect Park, the house has terra-cotta ornament, rusticated stone and a dog leg stoop on the exterior. Inside, original details include several handsome wood mantels with mottled tile, wood floors with inlaid borders, moldings and original doors. This former Open House Pick sold in September for $4.3 million, which was $550,000 over the asking price.
