Our open house picks this week all come in under the $1 million mark — which might not be a point of distinction in the average house market, but passes for a rarity in these parts. As you might imagine, there are no Park Slope mansions or four-family homes among them — most are modest family residences in the borough’s outer reaches. But at least two are more than 100 years old, and may contain some original details. They’re found in Bushwick, Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park and Flatlands.

First up is a brick row house on Evergreen Avenue in Bushwick that’s been in the same family for nearly 70 years, according to the listing. It’s a one-family with a front porch, with two bedrooms on the small upper floor and a living/dining room, kitchen, second full bath, and “media room” with a washer and dryer on the first floor, which has tiled floors. The garden level holds the mechanicals; it’s also got a full bath and living space that “can be used as a separate live-in unit,” says the listing, though it’s not a legal rental and the floor plan shows no kitchen. The kitchen and a bathroom are recently updated and there are new windows; the listing references “lots of” original details, but the photos don’t reveal many.

Next up is a semi-detached single-family on East 17th Street in Sheepshead Bay. There’s only an exterior photo and no floor plan, so our intel is limited, but we can tell you that it’s a standard two-story layout with three bedrooms and a bathroom above, and a living room, dining room, kitchen and half-bath below. There’s also a porch, a driveway and a skylit garage big enough for three cars, should you have that many. If you’ve got zero, note that the Q train is close by.

Next up is a fully detached early 20th century Arts and Crafts house with a patch of grass in front, on Kimball Street in Marine Park. In its particulars it’s got a fair amount in common with the last one: the same basic three-bedroom-duplex layout and a detached garage. This one’s got photos, and they reveal some charm, a renovated kitchen and some original details, including parquet floors and stained glass. It looks to be in good shape; the listing calls it “turn-key.” There’s a backyard and a finished basement with a full bath and a washer and dryer.

Last up, a semi-detached aluminum-sided number on Avenue M in Flatlands. Again, we’re flying somewhat blind here, with only a single exterior photo, no floor plan and minimal details in the listing. But again we’re looking at a two-story, three-bedroom layout, with an eat-in kitchen, a covered porch in the rear, a detached garage, an “inviting” back yard and a finished basement with a bathroom and laundry room.
