Four Houses Under $1 Million to See This Weekend
This weekend we’ve got four houses all under the million-dollar mark. Some could use updating, but all are potentially livable as-is, or look to be. They’re in Bushwick, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach and Flatlands.
This weekend we’ve got four houses all under the million-dollar mark. Some could use updating, but all are potentially livable as is, or look to be. They’re in Bushwick, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach and Flatlands.
On Noll Street in Bushwick we find a renovated two-family brick house. It’s got a two-bedroom unit on the second floor with high, sloping ceilings in the living room for a “loft-like ambiance.” The bottom unit is a three-bedroom duplex, with two bedrooms and a full bath on the “lower mezzanine” level, alongside the boiler — they’ve got windows, though, and appear to be legal judging by the front photo. There’s a parking space in the rear.
In Marine Park, at 1749 Marine Parkway, we’ve got a detached one-family with a private driveway and a two-car garage. It has three bedrooms and a full bath on the second floor, and a third bedroom in a finished attic. There’s also a finished basement with a separate entrance. This one could use some updating, but looks in decent shape. There’s an original parquet floor in the living room; a lot of carpeting elsewhere, but who knows, some wood may lurk beneath.
Not far off in Gerritsen Beach, we find a freestanding early 20th century single-family house with four bedrooms that looks to be well maintained. The master bedroom’s on the first floor, with three additional bedrooms above. The living room’s got a carpeted floor and a decorative mantel. The listing says the house is on a “double lot,” which seems just to mean that there’s a decent-sized yard in the back — it’s a fetching one, nicely landscaped with a pair of small trees.
Last stop is Flatlands, where we land on a narrow rowhouse with a Perma-stone facade. There’s no floor plan and the listing offers minimal info; it’s listed as a three-bedroom, but one of the bedrooms appears to be in the finished basement. It looks to have been recently renovated, with new wood floors. Not much greenery to be found here — the front and rear yards are concrete slabs. The listing says there’s private parking “available” — perhaps that means in the front yard.
